Don Lyons received a degree in finance from UTA, majoring in portfolio and security analysis while minoring in economics. Don has worked extensively with individuals and business owners as an Ameritas Investment Company, LLC Securities Representative for 37 years.

Don Lyons has Series 6, 7, and 63 and is a registered representative through Ameritas Investment Company, LLC, and an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) through Ameritas Advisory Services, LLC. As a portfolio manager, Don creates individualized and customized portfolios to meet the objectives of his clients. Don’s practice also provides extensive financial and retirement planning utilizing Financial Profiles & NaviPlan to create a personalized analysis, asset allocation, and an overall plan moving forward

Jean Starkey

Executive Assistant

As Assistant to Don Lyons for 30 years, Jean continues to enjoy working to provide clients with quality service. She has a BA from UTA. Organization is Jean’s number one tool that she brings to the table.

Being organized allows her to bring the level of detail needed to support Don. She is constantly growing and learning so that she and Don are current with industry trends and client’s needs.

He is experienced with the complex financial and risk management needs of businesses across the United States. Mr. Matthews’ commitment to business owners is evident through the support, leadership, and capability he creates for them, as well as in the disciplined accountability he provides to ensure concepts and programs are enacted seamlessly. He has recently completed his ELAP certification and has become a resource for” reference-based pricing” consulting.

 Mr.Matthews” strong commitment to his industry is evidenced in his distinguished membership with the top trade associations and professional coaching programs. He is also a competitive athlete with achievements at his alma mater, Texas A&M’s renowned track and field program, and in the marathons he competed in over the last several years in New York City, Paris, and Rome. Mr. Matthews makes his home in Los Angeles and Dallas and is the father of three children.

Jeff Smalley

Jeff Smalley is a Financial Planning Consultant with Ameritas Investment Company, LLC. He has
been with Ameritas Investment Company, LLC for over 21 years. As such, he works with Don Lyons
and Lyons Investment Group as a strategic partner to help clients understand
their assets and financial goals to create a comprehensive strategy. The overall planning
can range from providing tax strategies, retirement planning, estate planning strategies, appropriate
insurance products, and planning for financial gift-giving and inheritances.

George Janson

George Janson with Janson Insurance Agency specializes in property and casualty insurance. A
graduate of Fort Lewis College with degrees in Molecular Biology and Chemistry, George has been in
business over 28 years and is a Strategic Partner working with our individuals and small to medium
