As a portfolio manager, Don creates individualized and customized portfolios to meet the objectives of his clients. He is experienced with the complex financial and risk management needs of businesses across the United States. He has recently completed his ELAP certification and has become a resource for” reference-based pricing” consulting.

He is also a competitive athlete with achievements at his alma mater, Texas A&M’s renowned track and field program, and in the marathons he competed in over the last several years in New York City, Paris, and Rome. Mr. Matthews makes his home in Los Angeles and Dallas and is the father of three children.
Jeff Smalley is a Financial Planning Consultant with Ameritas Investment Company, LLC. He has
been with Ameritas Investment Company, LLC for over 21 years. As such, he works with Don Lyons
and Lyons Investment Group as a strategic partner to help clients understand
their assets and financial goals to create a comprehensive strategy. The overall planning
can range from providing tax strategies, retirement planning, estate planning strategies, appropriate
insurance products, and planning for financial gift-giving and inheritances.
George Janson with Janson Insurance Agency specializes in property and casualty insurance. A
graduate of Fort Lewis College with degrees in Molecular Biology and Chemistry, George has been in
business over 28 years and is a Strategic Partner working with our individuals and small to medium
